Several Years ago I bought my first treadmill. All I knew about exercise equipment at that time was that the $20 exercise bike I got in a yard sale made a really place to hang shirts to dry!
After that experience I bought a NordicTrac EXP 1000 treadmill from Sears. I haven't had any real complaints with it, other then the fact that I have started to outgrow it.
What would have really benefitted me at that time was a resource center that would have given some tips on what to look for when getting exercise equipment for home.
Exercise Equipment Review is intended to be a resource for users looking to
setup their own workout room or home gym.
Look here for articles on different types of exercise equipment:
There will also be a section where users will be able to review and leave comments about specific pieces of equipment that they have used. The next best thing to walking a mile in somebody else's shoes is to have them tell you how their feet feel!
I agree, it is imperative to have a place that users can go to for exercise equipment informtion. And not just from the company website either. Somewhere you can find other consumers who have had an experience with the particular equipment. GReat job! Looking forward to most posts!
Yes! Those tread-climbers work like a charm. You get pretty addicted to them. I used to work out at 24hr fitness and they had four of the commercial types made by nautilus. You had to be there super early to get on one. They became a hit so fast that all four burned out simultaneously. 24HR replaced them three times and this was 2 months after the grand opening. However, I have a theory about why they really replaced them. The amount of calories burned per half hour is tremendous especially at a slow speed. My heart rate quickly hit 165 after three minutes on speed 2.5. Absolutely incredible!
Unfortunately as technology improves and the fitness equipment available gets more sophisticated, it is easy to grow out of what you have already purchased. I bought the Bowflex Treadclimber TC5000 about 6 months ago and hopefully will not grow out of it for a long time. I bought this because it has the benefit of three different machines in one. Treadmill, stair stepper and elliptical. So far I am thrilled with the workouts and my weight loss.

After buying an treadmill from Sears I found it could not handle regular use. After my 90 day warranty ran out so did the motor so there went $599 I spent from a Sears piece of junk. Obviously the owner of this blog is hired by nordic trac. I started shopping around to Fitness Specialty sites and Stores. It is just better stuff and many times cheaper. I recomend this site and treadmill: http://www.fitnessscape.com/page/F/PROD/treadmills/bladez-6530hrp
